Why does Opera open bookmarks when I don't want it to?
If Opera is set as your default browser in Windows and it is already running, it intercepts requests to open bookmarks in other browsers, including Internet Explorer. If you want to be able to open some bookmarks in another browser:
- Open Opera.
- Go to Tools menu, Preferences, then click on the Advanced tab and select Programs. Uncheck the option Check if Opera is default browser on startup.
- Click on the Details button to the right.
- Uncheck all options except for Opera widgets.
- Click OK on each of the Preferences windows to close them.
- Close Opera.
You will now be able to open bookmarks in any browser from within Bookmark Buddy.
